Oscar Wilde has done some capital work in the 'Happy Prince and Other Tales'—a collection of five fairy stories, all told in simple style, but full of pathos and breathing the spirit of charity and good will. 'The Happy Prince', which gives the title to the book, is an admirable tale of the way a swallow and a statue helped to feed the hungry and clothe the destitute in a great city. The volume is artisically illustrated by Walter Crane and Jacob Hood.
