Two of Mr. Oscar Wilde's stories, 'The Happy Prince and other Tales,' have been translated into Dutch. Mrs, Twiss, a Dutch lady of considerable gifts and culture—and position—met with the book at the house of one of the author's friends in London, and, allured by 'a taste' of it, procured a copy to read on the homeward journey to Utrecht, in and near which city she resides. To promote a deserving charitable object Mrs. Twiss got up a dolls’ bazaar, and contributed versions of two of Mr. Oscar Wilde's delightful fairy tales, done into choice Dutch by her own hand. A large number of copies were sold, and there is a consequent demand in that part of the Netherlands for other stories from the same pen.
